Lake Reflection/Wave Effects Print E-mail
Contributed by Linda
I'd like to thank Elly, one of our wonderful members here at MPC for sharing this program!

Go here - http://www.photofiltre.com/ and click on "English". On the next page, look in the left margin and click "downloads". Now scroll down until you see "My other utilities" and underneath that, click on "Reflet 2.6 (English)". Your zip file download box will appear and then click to save it. You can created a folder named Reflet in your Program files folder (or wherever you choose to save it), and extract the zip-file there. Then right click the Reflet.exe and choose Desktop (create shortcut) .

Here is the image I will be working on -

Now for the fun!! Click on your Reflet icon and open the program. Click on the manila folder and find your image that you want to add the water effect to, click on it and then click "open". Your image will immediately appear "mirrored". Now, click on the "animation" icon which is to the right of the "open" folder. Your image now has the water effect!

If you'd like, you can go up to "options" and change the speed or type of waves. You can also play around with some of the other settings - "perspective" and "regular". For this image, I like "perspective" better. You can also change the height, number of images, etc. You will notice that if you increase the number of "images", the water becomes even smoother. If you decrease the number of "images", the water becomes more choppy.

When you have it the way you want it, just click the next icon over, "export". When the box comes up, make sure a dot is by "image and reflection". Now, type in a new "file name" and then click "save".

You can choose to view it on an html test page or just go to where you saved your new image and click on it to view it.

Here is the finished image with the height at "90" -
I don't really care for the full shot on this one, but wanted to show you the effect it created. Each image may be different, so you'll have to play around with the settings to get it like you want.

And here it is with the height at "55" -
This one I like better as it appears more serene.

If your image is too large to post as an attachment or if you want the image to appear in the message box area of forums, signature box, share with friends or use html for your page, try this tutorial for uploading your image -
