| Gold and Glass Frame using PSP |

I would like to thank Ken, another member of MPC for supplying the lovely photo for this tutorial. Here is the image that I will be using - Open up your image in PSP. I'm using version 7, but I'm sure the other versions can be adapted. With the image open, go up to "image" - "add borders". I used size 9 in the boxes - clicked ok and my border appeared. (I have mine set for a weird pink - which of course will disappear when you finish). Then I clicked on the magic wand tool and touched the weird pink border and you'll see marching ants. Now go up to "effects" - "plug in filters" - "eye candy 3.1" and choose "chrome". My settings are shown below. Now click on the check mark at the top right of the image shown above and you will see the effect applied to your image. When you finish this part, go up to "effects" and choose "sharpen more" as this will give your gold frame a more shiny appearance. Again go to "effects" and choose "3D" - "inner bevel". My settings are shown below - Click "ok" and then right click to get rid of the marching ants or go up to "selections" and choose "none". If you just want the gold frame - you're now finished and ready to save it. However, if you want to encase it in the glass as with my image - we have to go on a little further. Go back to "effects"/"plugin filters" and choose "eye candy 4000" and then choose "glass". You will see my settings below. For your "bevel profile", pick "hump". Now click "ok" and the effect will now be on your image. You can stop now or go further. For the effect I have, again go to "effects" and if you look down the list - you should see your "glass" option already there. If not, just go ahead and click through the eye candy to get to it. This time, let's change the refraction by moving the slider to 100. You can play around with the numbers either time that you use this option and see all kinds of beautiful results. Everything from a very fine, gold line to a heavier line. I used these settings to get the glass refracting the surrounding images. If you don't want that look, just change the settings and you'll see the refraction change or even disappear. Now you're all ready to put in your text. I used gold for the stroke and "bean thing" for the texture. As you type and apply the text - while you have the marching ants - you can "move" the text around where you like it. Just hover your cursor over the text, left click and drag it. When you get it where you want it, go up to "effects" and then apply a 3D drop shadow. I used vertical 4, Horizontal 1, Opacity 100, Blur 3.7 and color/black. Then click "OK". Now, just right click to get rid of the marching ants, or go up to "selections" and choose "none. Save your image to your computer and you're all set! Here is the finished image -
