These Patch CDs can either be purchased directly from SuSE, or, created with a bit of work. 1: The first thing you should do, is run YOU (YaST Online Update). 2: Apply all the relevant updates in the usual way. 3: Copy all the files from "/var/lib/YaST2/you/mnt/" to a suitable directory (retaining directory structure). 4: Download this file and put it the same directory where you copied the contents of "/var/lib/YaST2/you/mnt/" to. 5: Burn the contents of your Patch CD folder. BEFORE burning, ensure that your directory structure of the CD looks something like the following: i386/ --update/ ----9.0/ ------patches/ ------rpm/ --------i586/ --------i686/ --------noarch/ ------scripts/ media.1/ pubring.gpg-build.suse.de That will vary slightly depending on which architecture you're using. You may also want to burn it onto a CDRW so that when a new update comes out, it's simply a matter of adding the required files to the CD. 6: Use your patch CD! |
