Reflecting an Image Print E-mail

This tutorial will show you how to make a wonderful reflection of an image

 

This tutorial will show you how to make a wonderful reflection of your image! Some images work better than others, so if you aren't pleased with your results - try with another image.

Here is the image that we will work with on this tutorial or you can use one of your own -



Go to MagickStudio and click on "browse" and find your image and click on it and then click "open". Now click where it says "Press to view your image".

When your image appears on the next page, click on "transform" and then put a dot by "flip". Now "Press to transform your image".

On the next page, click "effects" and backspace out the numbers and put in the number 3. Now put a dot by "spread" and "Press to effect your image".

Click the "effects" tab again and backspace the 3 that you had previously used. Now put 3x3 in the parameter box and put a dot by "gaussian blur". Again "Press to effect" your image.

At this point we need to check the size of our image. Click on "resize" and write down the size of your image. For this image, it is 175x250. We will need this a little later.

Now click on the "output" tab up top. On the next page under "format", set it for "jpeg" and under "storage type" set that for "single file". Now "Press to output your image". When it appears, you can right click and save it to your computer or if you want to view it first - then double click and it will appear on a page by itself. After viewing it on that page, then you can right click and save it to your computer.

Here is the transparent image needed for the next step -


Next you will need to go back to MagickStudio
Again click on "browse" and find your transparent image. Click on it and then click "open". Now "Press to view your image".

Click on the "resize" tab up top and looking at your resize measurement that you wrote down from the original image - double the last measurement. For instance, mine was 175x250. I will double the 250 and make that 500. Backspace out the numbers that are there and put in your new numbers and add an exclamation point at the end. Mine will now be 175x500!

Now "Press to resize your image". When the next page appears, click on the "composite tab" up top. Click on "browse" and find your "flipped" image. Click on it and then click "open". Under "gravity" set that for "south". Now "Press to composite your image".

On the next page when your image appears, click on the "composite" tab again. This time click on "browse" and find your original image. Click on it and then click "open". Under the "gravity" option, set it for "north" and now "Press to composite your image".

When your image appears, click the "output" tab up top and then on the next page under "format", set it for "jpeg" and under "storage type" set that for "single file". Now "Press to output your image". When it appears, you can right click and save it to your computer or if you want to view it first - then double click and it will appear on a page by itself. After viewing it on that page, then you can right click and save it to your computer.
