Would you like to make an image smaller to use as an Avatar etc, then this is for you.You can use other places for resizing, but here are my two favorites. One is Gifworks and the other is MyImager. Here are the instructions for the Gifworks site http://www.gifworks.com (Remember you will need to change your image to a gif to use this site. If you need help with that, please check our article "How To Change Image Formats"). Click on "file" and then "file open". Now under method 2, click on "browse" or "choose" depending on what browser you're using. Find your image and click on it and then click "open" in the bottom right side. Now click "upload" and wait for your image to appear. When it does, go up to "edit" and then to resize/crop and then "resize". A little box will come up in the top left with dimensions. You can change your size there. If you change one dimension, the other one will automatically change to keep proportionate. Make sure you leave the check mark in "constrain proportions". Then click "ok". When the new image appears, right click on it and save it to your computer. To make it easier to find, rename it. That way you won't accidentally use the larger image. If you don't like the size, just backspace off one of the dimensions and put in another. You can keep doing that until you get it just the way you want it! If you want to try resizing at the MyImager site http://www.myimager.com - click on the "click here to begin". Click on "choose" and find your image - click on it and then click "open". Now click "upload". Your image will appear on another page. Now to resize it - go up to "edit" and then to "resize". For avatars, put the 50 (or whatever the largest measurement for the size you need) in and the other one will be automatically adjusted. For other sizing - It's easier to just pick the little down arrow of the first option and then choose what percent size of your image. If you click on 80% and then click "resize", your image will appear on another page just a "tad" smaller. You can play around with the different sizes and you'll get the hang of it! Of course 50% would be the original size in half. When the image appears, if you want it smaller or larger - just hit your "back" button and reset the size. When you get it just the way you want it - go up to "file" and then "save" and when it appears, just right click on it and save it to your computer. |
