I have asked if we should start a GE (Google Earth) thread over here at My PC Clinic. And was asked for the rules, well there very few rules, just some guide lines (which can and have been bent :cjlol: ).
The way the game is played is, a picture is downloaded from GE and posted here, with all the important info about the picture removed. Then what is generally expected is to fire up GE and start looking for the picture, and when you find it, post your copy, then if you are right, you get to post the next one. Players can ask the poster for hints, if needed.
Now here is where the guide lines get bent, some people that play don't have GE installed or it doesn't work on their computer, so they just start guessing.
If they are just guessing it would be nice if they would just send the poster of this picture a PM, (this gives others, with GE, to continue looking), If the guesser is right and they don't have GE, they can't post a new picture anyway, but the poster of the picture can acknowledge that a guesser has won, At this time the poster can wait or let someone else post.
Other than that there are not any hard set rules/guidelines.
Not a GE picture but, guess any way, for the next GE post.

Wrong#.... What about the clues at the start up...?
That was part of the intrique...
Too...I guess I participated incorrectly days past...as I did study and guess..without posting a picture...though did not reveal the full answer..just parts of where it was..with initials...until someone found the actual shot. Since some participants might not have GE..or ability to transfer pictures... why could we not play either way...? Just a thought.....would not have to reveal at the get go....
What say you?:)
And who is is that resides in this fine house????????????????
A hint might help.

To answer your question, some one on the forum lives here.

Can I put my 2 cents in here? I'm the one that originally started it. Mine was called What/Where & the first picture I posted was this one.

GE Games these are not Rules but Guidlines
They are:
GE for dial up: For players that use dial up internet and Google earth. Winner posts the next one or asks another to post for them and if you do to follow up on it .
DSL GE For players using high speed internet, or dial up if you want, and Google Earth.
Winner posts the next one or picks another to post for them and if you do to follow up on it.
GE for non GE users: For players that post any kind of picture using Google Earth or Not.
Winner posts the next one or picks someone to post for them and if you do to follow up on it .
Guidelines are good, 'rules' are to hard to keep. If you have posted and someone 'wins' and passes to someone else then the OP can post another if the receiving 'pass' is not acknowledged.
This can be used in all games, and this can keep the game moving along.
