This is some info on capturing pictures, before you do, click on the minimize/maximize square on the top right. Most of your info along the bottom will be gone, so you won't have to doctor it up in 'Paint', anyway that is what I do.

No Bruce, not an assembly plant, but an assembly place of sorts.

Clue: I just hope there ARE NOT any ILLEGALS in the trucks with the parts.

Well going by what I read in the US papers, the answer to that is China. :)

Most parts come out of Mexico, Cheap Labor. Also Cheap Parts. If I order a part and in comes in Made in China I won't buy it.

Well you won't be buying much in the future Bruce,

With the population of China in billions being low paid, they will be the future leading economy of the world. They have whole towns just producing single products very cheaply.

My only advice is to make sure your children/grandchildren learn Mandarin as it will be a very useful language for business in the future. At present, my brother goes to China on business trips on average 3 times a year.

Very True. I had my Starter quit Today. Took it Out, took 3 Hours, and Dismantled it to find out why.
It is only in the Car for 1300 Miles over three years.
Found out the Armature came from China.

Surferdude, you said you started in Cal. and was following the border, did you start at Tijuana? If you did, that is probably your problem, you need to start in Duluth Mn. and follow the road right to the border crossing... :ljlol:

Do this "start in Duluth Mn. (and just follow your nose), and follow the road right to the border crossing" as the posted picture IS a border crossing..

If I have to spell it out more, you will have to make a slight detour in Mpls. :cjlol: Refer back to several of your news reports last month.

I'm very confused because you put a red arrow pointing to an icon telling me to go a bit farther east which i did till I get to the border & now you're telling me to travel across country to the north. Have your 'Roads' option checked in the 'Layers' box on Google Earth side bar.

It's possible some came from there and I will tell you why in a minute.

Here is my pic...

This border crossing is one of 4 located in Laredo Texas. That is why Wrong# was telling you Interstate 35. I35 ends in Laredo, Texas.

As to why some of your auto parts may gave came from Mexico is, I worked in Mexico for 6 1/2 years operating what they call a Maquilladora or Twin plant operation. This is a US Manf. plant operating in Mexico.I was a Division Manager for over 20 years in aftermarket automotive manufacturing business, we made automotive and industrial radiators/ heaters and transmission oil coolers. At one time the company I worked for had 13 plants in the US, but due to foreign competion coming from Asia they were forced to go to a 3rd world country to survive.

Many people have this very wrong misconception that jobs went south, in a way they did due to exorbinate high wages paid to workers in auto plants in the US due to Unions demanding they pay high salarys. Some of our own plants were union.

In regards to radiators, some parts were stamped (Pre-formed) in the US and sent to Mexico to be incorporated in radiators. Labor is applied, some parts are made in Mexico because materials are less expensive, and the finished goods are sent back to the US.

This process kept our plants going another 10 years and people kept their jobs till they could no longer even able to do this.

Manufacturing has been dieing in the US for almost 20 years due to foreign competion, China has taken over because the US has let them with reduced Tariffs (Taxes) on goods entering the US.

We have done this to ourselves.
