The present site of this Building was first developed as the John Thomson Farm in the late 18th century. At the time, a stream ran across the site, emptying into Sunfish Pond.

purple and gold are the monarchial colors of Her Majesty, The Queen..the Royal House of Windsor....

Purple and Gold were illuminated in honor and in thanks....for the support U.K. gave, post 9/11.
(The U.S. National Anthem was played at Buckinham Palace, as well as additional support.)

It was during the Golden Jubilee of Her Majesty, the Queen....2002, that the puple and gold colors were shown...Empire State Building.

I glee with the 'history' reviews!!!! Without the background, miscellaneous, information, it would be a rudimentary search for pictures... The historic data of a place..gives it depth and rebirth.....

Surfer at one time the Empire state building was supposed to be an Anchor station but due to the rough air currents it became untainable and though they stopped the anchores are still in place today what MM showed you was the one and only time a Blimp anchored to the Empire State building.

I say we put a deadline on it. Its not fair any way you look at it for anybody to make the rest of us wait. We all are too familiar with that.
Anyhow, as promised, I got my GE copter as close to the top of the Empire State Bldg to see if I could see those Zeppelin tie downs, check it out.
