Record for being the T-LL--T person in history :)
Think i saw your the Gentle Giant in the ripley believe it or not at Atlantic city Nj about 4 years ago.
And in the history of Scouting there is something about a rather large thirteen year old that almost wasn't excepted as a Scout because no one believed he was 13 but common sense prevaild and he was excepted and a benefit to scouting he was :)

Your speaking of Robert Wadlow, the Alton giant.Robert Wadlow was born February 22, 1918 on Monroe Street (http://maps.yahoo.com/maps_result?addr=1918+on+Monroe+Street&csz=Alton+IL&country=us&new=1&name=&qty=) in Alton, Illinois, weighing 8.7 pounds but grew to 8' 11.1" which qualifies him as the tallest person in history, as recorded in the Guinness Book of Records. At the time of his death he weighed 490 pounds.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Wadlow

The mansion is http://i25.tinypic.com/2ypkdno.jpg, across from that is the park where the tree is.

McPikes Mansion Alton, sits among the bluffs of the Mississippi River just north of St. Louis, Missouri. The historical town still holds the remains of a civil war prison, a monument to those who died here during a small pox epidemic in the 1800's, the site of the Lincoln-Douglass debates and a monument to Elijah P. Lovejoy, as well as many beautiful historic homes. Atop Mount Lookout Park, the highest point in Alton, stands the McPike House. Once a proud addition to the town, the mansion is in need of much repair to restore it to its former glory. The McPike Mansion is private property and trespassing is not allowed.

Taz, you can do the next one.:hi:

:hi:

I posted it, it's in a lot across from the mansion.

Read this...........

While going to McPikes Mansion in Alton you will notice an old stone staircase on the opposite side of the road from the Mansion, just a few hundred feet up the road. I thought maybe it was going to be a http://dailyabuse.typepad.com/photos/uncategorized/dsc01872.jpg (http://www.dailyabuse.com/lost_in_The_Midwest/RoadSideAttraction/Tree_tire/)cemetery but it turned out to be an empty lot, most likely an old house that had been torn down. Towards the back of the lot you will see an old tree, in the center of the tree you will see an rusty tire rim about 4 foot up If you think about it, it's pretty amazing that the tree grew up and around an old tire, totally engulfing the entire tire. -

Bicycle-Eating Tree

http://www.museumofhoaxes.com/EE/images/uploads/BicycleTree_thumb.jpg (http://www.museumofhoaxes.com/EE/images/uploads/BicycleTree.jpg) The bicycle-eating tree is probably familiar to most residents of Washington, since it's located on Vashon Island, Washington. Apparently someone, decades ago, left their bicycle leaning against the tree, and as the tree kept growing it enveloped the bike and now lifts it seven feet off the ground. I think it's amazing that a) the tree actually grew around the bike instead of pushing it over, and that b) in all that time no one ever moved the bike. The bicycle-eating tree has been featured in Ripley's Believe It Or Not, and also inspired a children's book by Berkeley Breathed.

Unionville, Indiana - Gobbler's Rock-in-Tree Rock in Tree -- Gobbler's Rock -- so-called because it was found by a turkey hunter in Yellowwood State Forest. The triangular piece of sandstone sits about 30 feet up in the fork of a chestnut oak tree, and is about 4 feet across and a foot thick. It is estimated to weigh about 400 pounds.
