Hey Leroi, I have a question. I am having the darndest time locating where and how to add bookmarks to the links bar. I can add them to the bookmarks section, but that doesn't seem to do anything for me.

I attached an image showing where I want them to show up.

Hi Mike,

I think all you need to do is go to manage bookmarks and drag the links you want to the personal toolbar folder, then perhaps click open the plus sign to display them on the toolbar?

I haven't ever added anything there, but have seen pics of non-default links there. I'll open Moz (on FB right now) and see if I can figure it out.

<added> Yep, just added MyPcClinic to my personal toolbar folder and it appears on my toolbar, didn't have to click open the folder to display. :)

I deleted the personal toolbar folder.

can I just create it again or do I need to modify some files?

Hi Mike,

I did that once and at the time couldn't figure out how to fix it without creating a new profile. I think you should be able to recreate it and if it is in the top position (where it is by default), perhaps Moz will recognize it and use it, but I don't know this for a fact.

You could create a new profile and copy all the files and folders except the Xul.mfl file (probably called something else in Linux) and bookmarks.html to the new profile folder, then import your bookmarks and delete the duplicates and your profile should now have the personal toolbar folder and you can add to it. There is probably a less round about way of doing it, but I don't know it.

Check out this site: http://www.gemal.dk/mozilla/files.html

and see if you can figure out what files might be different, Windows vs. Linux.

I'll try to find more info.

Mike,

I found this: http://www.ctlt.org/training/jane/netscape...tor/index.php#3 (http://www.ctlt.org/training/jane/netscape_navigator/index.php#3)

It is really for Netscape, but the process should be very similar. I would try creating a new Personal Toolbar Folder and see if Moz recognizes it. I'm still looking for more info.

In all honesty, I'm going to probably reformat my drive as I did an incomplete install of Linux and am just realizing it.

But, it would be good to know how to do this. :)

Hi again, :)

Oh, that's too bad, but I'm sure you'll get things straightened out soon. :thRt:

BTW, I found another article, applies to Netscape 7, still should be very similar, scroll down to FAQs:

To add a bookmark to Links, click Bookmarks, File Bookmark and select Links. :) I tried to look at your jpg but I got an error screen requiring that I login. Why? Also: It shows I joined August 16, 2003 and shows most of you June 30, 2003. I originally joined March 23, 2003. I just got your email tonite, I am confused. Thanks.

I got the same error, I think it is because I posted this at our testing url and maybe the attachment didn't get transfered.

So don't worry, it's not a problem on your end but ours. :)
