Woops the hair went a bit wonky. Nice to be able to decide not to add the wrinkles. Of course Lucy had to be in on the act! Better than the reality :(

Breezy , open the site and clcik on Part Selection , for each item that you want to pick . And click on the type of hairline, faceline etc, that you think you have . Go all the way down and pick all your parts . Don't forget to pick the color of your hair , eyes , skin and lips . Then press the Create button and save your picture . :jig:

Jane
06-09-2004, 08:10 PM
Breezy , it's not showing because you've saved it as a bitmap ! Try to save it as a gif and it will show OK  :hi:

Well, mine would have had wrinkles if the site had had MY particular wrinkles. And it didn't have the silver strands in my hair. http://www.globalarray.net/user/carolj100/emotipad/giggle.gif

Well shoot! I think RJB tore it up! The computer is so slow, that it wouldn't give me all my parts! Now what is that supposed to mean? :cjlol:

I think I'll try again tomorrow. Thanks Jane for posting this - it really looks like fun and might possibly help me with a tutorial I'm working on . . . :hammer:

Breezy , if you have IrfanView ? open the picture and save it again , this time as a gif :jig: :hi:

Linda
06-10-2004, 10:37 AM
Breezy, you might need to empty your temporary internet files. Do that and try to save it again. Also going to irfanview to change it as Jane mentioned will convert the image . . . or send it to me and I'll change it for you.

RJB, it finally let me have all my parts. I think my emails coming in made the computer too slow and it wouldn't pull up some of the parts pages . . . HeeHee :jig:

Jane

What is it that does not work for you Breezy ?

Breezy
06-10-2004, 05:13 PM
I have tried right clicking on properties to do it that way! As I have many pictures... but no go! I have saved the picture in my pictures and it will not work when I try to post it as I would any other picture from there. I tried to resave it, but it will only let me save it as a bit map! I am just lost as to what else to do. I tried to do the suggestions, but got no where. I really just do not know what else to do! I have my picture... just can't get it from there to here!

I can do this.... by right clicking properties

http://pages.prodigy.net/rogerlori1/emoticons/uquakmeup.gif

And I can do this by uploaded My Pictures, etc.

Jane
06-10-2004, 05:39 PM
Breezy , the picture will not post because it it in bmp (bitmap ) format . You need to post gif or jpg . And it wil show .

Breezy , do you have IrfanView ? If you do , open the IrfanView and go to menu File-Open ..browse to you picture and click on it -open . After that you just Save as -choose gif from fall-down menu , and save . You can also rightclick on the picture and Open With -IrfanView . Just try it and if you get stuck , we are here :hi:

Try this, Breezy.

Linda

Breezy, did you empty your tifs? After that, you should be able to just right click on the image and have the correct option. Let us know what happens. :hi:

http://mypcclinic.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=682&stc=1 Thank you so much Carol! I still need to figure out all that other stuff, but this will do for now! I was obviously in a silly mood when I did it!

What are tifs? And yes, I believe I have Infraview!:)

Well, still not working... tried copying right off of Carol's posted pic, tried properties right click, etc. still the same thing. It works with all of my other pics though! Go figure!

Breezy, I think you rely too much on "Properties." Get an account at a hosting place like Photobucket and place your most-used graphics there, and link to them. For an attachment here, you put the graphic right in your "My Picture" file and then link to that.

I use the property ones cause they show up right away in posts just like the ones in My Pictures do in emails. I appreciate what you are saying, but I do not understand all the computer lingo and my images/smilies work just fine with rare exception. This picture for whatever reason is just not working! :hammer: I can live without it posting for me!

But Breezy, do you remember us talking about bandwidth, when we were over at WS? You are using someone else's bandwidth, and although some sites allow it freely, others may not be so amenable to regular use.

Linda
06-11-2004, 10:09 PM
Breezy, your tifs are your temporary internet files which should be emptied regularly or you will only have the option to save as a bmp which sounds like what is happening.

You can go up to "tools"/"internet options" and then click "delete files" and then put a dot by "delete all offline content" - then click to delete the files and the tifs will be deleted too. Then try to right click on your image and see if you have the other options. At that point, it should save properly to your computer. Then just click on "manage attachments" and insert your image straight from your computer.

CarolJ is right about the right clicking and the bandwidth. If you need an image to show up and not be in an attachment, then you can put it in by uploading somewhere like Photobucket and using their url address to insert the image. :jig:

nice link, something I'll toy around with to create stuff for a website. Unfortunately nothing on it comes close to providing me with tools to create a somewhat kinda accurate close illustration of myself. So the Dollz in my signature will have to do its as close to perfect, of a true image of me as I can get in cartoon form.
AH

I like everyone else's illus though....

I will have to check out that photobucket thing and hopefully will figure out how to do it. Thanks for the reminder!

I got some of my pictures in photobucket now, but how do I get the ones where I have used properties to go there? Do I just start over with them? Just curious. I also have that picture that I did of me for this post, but I do not know how to get it from there to here!

Okay, let's start with your picture. Photobucket will give you an address (link) that begins with http. C & P that into the space for your avatar in User CP preferences, and see what happens.

Let's take this slow and one step at a time, now, so you can remember. I know it's hard at first, but you'll see it all soon!
