I am sure this happened to me a long time ago but can't remember the cure.
I delete files etc and they go to the bin, the icon shows files there, but the files are cannot be seen when I open the directory. It just looks empty, although it isn't.
Thanks for any advice
John
Morning John.
It could be that your Info file has become corrupt, have a look at this Microsoft article, I know it does not mention ME, but it is the most up to date available, and is still relevant:
Damaged or Deleted INFO File (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=136517)
You are not using Norton's protected recycle bin are you ?
By the way what happens when you try and empty the bin, does the number of invisible files it shows as being there disappear.
Me again
Go here, download the little reg file, then either double-click the filename and OK the merge when prompted or right-click and select "Merge" when prompted. This is a site I trust completely:
FixBin.reg (http://www2.whidbey.net/djdenham/fixbin.htm)

Hello Amie, many thanks, I have tried the binfix.reg but it did not work. The entries were already in the registry.
So I shall investigate the microsoft path now.
I could not find the Recycled folder which I thought was in windows, I did a search and the folder did not turn up! Do you know where it should be stationed?
The icon on desktop is now showing full but when I go and open the directory it says no files. Although when I click on icon and select empty the bin becomes empty!

Thanks for the leads Amie, It has been cured with a command prompt, for "Damaged Recycled Folder".
John
That is great news John, thanks for letting me know the problem is solved.
