Quicktime is a program that allows you to play movies or video clips done in a certain file format. I don't believe Windows Media Player will handle this file format.

You should find these two threads interesting:

My Webpage (http://www.worldstart.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13506&highlight=quicktime)

As for your empty folder, before you delete it, make sure your computer is set up to show all files, just in case there are any hidden ones in it.

Sorry I missed the folder name above.

I would leave Quicktime on the PC unless you really want to get rid of it. If you decide to uninstall it make sure you follow the directions carefully because removing it can really be a bear and cause problems later.

I installed Quick Time some time ago on my Windows 98SE. It is nice to view video clips. I use it to preview movie clips. You can always disable it until you need it. Real Player did not work for this.

Thanks ever one I got rid of Quick time it took some doing tho.I also deleted the empty folder I do have the folders set to show hidden files.

I ask about another one some time ago called" shields" it looks like something to do with setting up the internet.I was not sure so I renamed it hid it.Will wait about aweek if nothing shows up will go back in and delete it unless some one comes up with a reason not to.Thanks again,

My machine hates Quicktime, have thought about installing the "Quicktime Alternative", but haven't...yet.

Does anyone have any experience with it, or is there an older version of Quicktime that might be less virus-like?
