Linda, None of "Greg's Factory Output" or "DC" 's, listed at the PSPUG free filter site, work. I thought maybe the files were corrupted, so I downloaded them again and installed them, and still nothing. I got Greg's Factory from the PSPUG page http://www.pspug.org/filters/filtersff.shtml and the DC filters from DC's site, http://bmath.net/dc/download.htm. Screenshot shows the error message I get when I try to open one, and also the folder structure where I have all my filters; the other filters in the folder--Fantastic Machine Paint Engine and the others--do work. Except for getting the error message, there's no difference in the way I open the various filters. And on my old computer, both Greg's and DC's groups of filters worked. The only differences are (1) I had not installed the PSP 5.03 update but was using PSP5.0, and (2) the filters were in a folder with another name--but the error message shows that PSP found them all right. Do you have any ideas about what may be wrong?
These should help.

One thing I noticed on your attachment, which I don't know is of any relelvance, the folder you have open with the plugins in is DC Newer, but the error message states DC Older.

Amie, thanks so much!
The problem was that I did not have msvcrt10.dll; I had msvcrt.dll and msvcrt20.dll but now I have all three. The newsgroup (Joe C.) said that the msvcrt10 was necessary for the 56K-filters. Sure enough, when I checked my folders, the newer, larger-file-size filters were the only ones that worked. I just copied one of the old, 56K ones into the filter folder, and lo! it worked, so I'm pretty sure that all of the DC filters will. Now I'll go and get Greg's Factory Output, which I threw out thinking the files were corrupt.
No, the "older/newer" thing isn't relevant. I put DC's filters into two folders, hoping to have similarly-sized filter-menus, but the filters sort themselves into DC's own categories when I use them. Same with Greg's Factory: I put all of them into one folder, but from PSP they're in two menus. It is amazing how much information these binary files contain, like which other 8bf files to associate with and all sorts of things that aren't visible.
It's so nice to have my "old" filters back again!

You are very welcome, I thought that would be the answer, it seems to be quite a common problem as my research turned up hundreds of links about it. :)
