Good Morning Linda
I've done a Tues Challenge for a Graphic Group and I can't get it resized small enough to load up. I've tried 3 differant ImageMagick sites, plus Magic Studio and even tried to take it to Photo Bucket to see if they would resize it automaticaly. No Luck :hammer: I also tried emailing it to myself and resizing and saving it that way but it still wouldn't work.
I've mailed you the pic and I'm hoping you're home, not busy, and can resize it somehow for me so I can get it posted in time.
Ooohhhh boy, graphics are going to be the end of me
p.s. I tried IrfanView to

Nanci, it's coming through my email right now - but, it is slow. Must be a whopper! What size does it need to be?

Nanci, I did two of them - let me know if either of them will work. They're on their way back to you now!

Linda, before I got back here to check for your reply, I took the pic to MSPaint and resized it there. Of course it took the animation away and I had to redo all that but it's finally posted to the graphic place. Now I'm going to scoot off real quick and get your email because your pic is probably much better than mine! I'll post it instead :tongue2:
I'm doing another pic and before going to post it I'm not going to close ImageMagick. Instead I figure that I'll just minimize the page and if it's too big to post then ImageMagick will still have it loaded and opened to resize. That should work shouldn't it??
Off I go to get your email.....

Nanci, I am guessing that you want the file size smaller - not the actual size of the image?
The file size is what makes the image too large to upload at boards, etc. You might want to try a few tricks and see if it helps. Any chance that you get to save as a jpeg - might help reduce the size and also be careful of things like transparent background vs a colored background. Use the colored background if possible.
But, with most animations - the real culprit is the frames. Sometimes you can pull out some of the frames and still have "some" animation, but have a smaller file size. For instance on the image you were working on today - the original had a file size of 1,544 KB. I then proceeded taking out every other frame and ended up with 7 frames at 396 KB. Then I went further and took out every other frame to end with 3 frames at 202 KB - and you still had animation!
Nanci, you might want to try taking out some of the frames of each image before you composite them together - and then save as a jpeg. :hi:

Great tips Linda :linda: I know how to change from gif to jpg but I don't have a clue about Frames. I'm assuming their like layers or something but I don't have the foggiest idea on how to change them. I thought that just applied to PSP which I don't use.
I also have a few more graphic questions but I'll post them each on new hreads so it will be easier to read for anyone else who might need the same help.
I sure am glad your here to help :linda: :linda: :linda:
