I found this great set of nine filters for graphics that are fun to use even if you're just playing and seeing what they do. The interface is wonderfully complicated in the good sense: you can tweak and adjust, etc. just about everything, and then save your combinations as presets; or you can simply click on all the presets that come with the set. Some of the nine filters are demos (you can play with them, not apply them), but you can apply and use the freeware ones for a really wide range of effects. They work with PSP, Photoshop, Photo Paint, Photo Draw, and Photo Impact.

Go to
http://www.redfieldplugins.com/Downloads.htm (http://http://www.redfieldplugins.com/Downloads.htm)
and get "RedfieldPlugins.exe 9 filters package size 374k Sep.21.2004";
it's on the left of the middle of the page.
Then use the internal link to the "samples page" or "samples" at the upper right
so you can download the textures and things that are made (of high-quality photo images) to go with the filters.

I used them to make the attached image: to make the mat-board, to apply the "painted" texture, and to do interesting things to a rather ordinary photo of Mount Shasta (how she looks from about 40 miles away).
