View Full Version : Webshots
Hi. Webshots looks like a cool program. :amie: My computer is best set on 1024x768 pixels. Do you think Webshots will work on my computer? Thanks,
Jan

I use it all the time and my monitor is set the same as yours. Love all the pictures. I download some almost every day.
Thanks Milt. I will give it a try then :amie:

How do I find out what resolution I have, and how can I get a calendar on my desk top?

Denine.
To find out what resolution you are using, Right click on a blank part of your Desktop and select Properties, go to the Settings tab and at the bottom right you will see the Screen Area section with the size listed. eg 1024 x 768.
Are you talking about using Webshots Calandar, I must admit I have never used that feature, as I do not run the program in the background at all, just open it every morning to choose my wallpaper for the day.
But if you open Webshots, and click on the Settings button at the top, a new window will open, with a Calendar tab on, where you can set it up to your preference.

I have been using Webshots for years. My resolution is 1600x1200, and the 800x600 images from Webshots look fine on my system.
I see that nobody mentioned that you can drag and drop your OWN images into Webshots photo manager... :jig:

I have got my own collection in Webshots, with drawings done by my children and pictures of Adam Watkiss, (a friend of mine who is a singer/actor), on stage. The great thing about it is that Webshots automatically stretches them to fit your Desktop and they look great.

I used to use the calendar from Webshots. That can be set up in preferences. It looks like MiltWV also has the rainlendar calendar. I think its at www.rainlendar.com. Where do you drop your own photos in? I love webshots and usually get a few more weekly. Thanks.

I, too, have used WebShots since I started using the Internet. My calendar is from Rainlendar, though. I usually get photos of roses and rainbows, with some odd stuff thrown in. :amie:

The way I do it is to open Webshots, then go to Photos > Add New, this will open a window for you to browse to where your pictures are stored. You can make your own collection, mine is called Fun and Misc, or just drag them from the right hand side over to one of the other collections.
I visit the new daily photos page every morning to see if there is something I like:

Amie , I downloaded some pictures from Webshots site . they all have WBZ extension .(this was before I downloaded the Webshots desktop ) If I want to import them into Webshots Desktop pogram(Photos-AddNew ) I get this error .
OK , I got it figured out . you can't move them they just download . :got it:
I don't ever use screensaver (no need to and I don't want to keep forgeting to turn it off when doing something like installing , defrag etc ) I want to turn off the Webshots screensaver options . I took all the checkmarks from the Screensaver options but it still wants me to put a number for SS start and Image display .
Jane.
I stopped using any screensavers when I got my ADSL connection, as I needed my screen to be always showing, so I just went into window's display properties and set it to none on the Screensavers tab.
I just checked my Webshots settings and tried leaving it set to "0". and got the same message as you did, so I put some figures in and that was ok. As long as you have turned off the Screensaver option like I have in Window's Display Properties, that over-rides any setting in Webshots.
Amie :amie:
Thank you Amie , I had it set-up just like you and I have my screensaver on none for ages . I left the comp for 30 min (oh what a pain that was  ) and it works fine . After 25 min the screen turns black :jig: Appreciate your help :amie:
Jane.
Always a pleasure to be of assistance.
