Hi all especially the Mozilla Mafia. Having been having major problems with IE I listened to Ranger Bob and downloaded/instlalled Mozilla. I went to do a check disc last night and lo and behold my hard drive seems to have accepted (without my knowledge) a whole bunch of programs. Last week I had over 23 gig free space and now I seem to have about 17 gig. I did not download or install any big programs. Any one have any thoughts on this please speak up, it will be appreciated.

Another thing is with the cursor. On IE and all other windows, the cursor stops on the next space so you can see what you just typed. With Mozilla the cursor stops on the lastl letter typed so you can not see what is there. Is there a way to set this as I find it very annoying and I hate to keep typing the same thing over and over due to unseen mistakes.

Thanks in advance for any feedback and more to come.

Hy

Hi MisterHy,

That is an odd problem with Mozilla, the cursor on my version works fine. I suggest you try creating another profile, could be your current one is corrupt, but I have never heard of this particular problem (could be a symptom of larger problems?). With Mozilla closed, go to start>programs>mozilla>mozilla profile manager and click manage profiles, create a new profile with a different name (one character difference is enough), you can then copy your bookmarks.html file from the corrupt profile's folder and paste it into the new profile's folder (replace the file, answer yes to the prompt).

The hard drive space disappearing could be any number of things. Viruses sometimes cause hard drive space to be taken very quickly. (might want to do some online scans, disable your own antivirus while scanning online)

System Restore can take up to 12% of your drive (by default) and may be causing you to lose a lot of disk space.

Go-Back and other similar utilities can take a lot of space.

Here is a good page to learn about Mozilla profiles and their locations:
