I don't own a horse but I ride at Oakmeadows Stables. Pepper is a wonderful horse. He is a white flea-bitten Arabian gelding. He hates jumping or water but he'll do it for me. He likes to help me choose the brushes I use on him. He puts his head on my shoulder and closes his eyes. He is very frisky and is the fastest horse in the barn. At horse camp we liked to race our horses and he won every time. We also went swimming with them in the pond.(I had to ride Dillion because Pepper just had a bath.) On Friday, the last day of camp we went trail riding at Elkmont.Pepper was the friskest I've ever seen him. (This was last years trail ride.)

... when an aluminum (aluminium for our English friends) ingot gets hung up in the die press ---the front part of the semi-molten ingot spreads apart into a "splat"... it can blow apart the machine sometimes, but even though it is deadly; it usually makes a beautiful "sculpture" . It can resemble a mushroom shape, or a big 'hippy" table that used to be made out of cable reels. The oil and grease that is forced into the suface of the aluminum burn away, and intricate streaks of random ravines are left.

I wasn't sure how the above paragraph would be received; so I cut it a bit short, but still left enough to describe the object. another cool detail...

When the surface is polished... all those random streaks left behind like scratches make the surface like a diffraction grate... you see the light reflected from the splat table spread out in a fuzzy rainbow; like oil rainbows on the surface of puddles, but not sharply defined.

Spartas

The VHT-1 “Spartas” was developed by the United Earth Government in 2015 to fill the armored reconnaissance role, a role which had previously been carried out by the VBT-1 "Centaur"; however, by 2015 technological improvements had made the design dangerously obsolete. The new design was required to have superior maneuverability over the older RDF Destroid and VBT-1 “Centaur” models but retain the armor and firepower to directly confront the most powerful Zentraedi mecha. Two designs were placed forwarded as prospective candidates. The first was an upgraded version of the venerable Centaur, dubbed the VBT-1A1 “Centaur-II” and the other was the VHT-1 “Spartas” hovertank. Although the Centaur-II provided protection for the crew in all modes and possesses slightly greater firepower, the VHT-1 “Spartas” ultimately won the competition with its greater maneuverability and dedicated battloid mode.

Sparty refers to the mascot of Michigan State University. The mascot is a man dressed in traditional Greek Spartan costume. Sparty appears in several incarnations: as a graphic image of a spartan with a prominent chin, as a foam-rubber large-headed mascot, and as two identical statues designed by Leonard D. Jungwirth.
