Thought we'd try this and see how it goes! Here are 5 clues to a state. Name the state and then leave your 5 clues to another state, etc. :wink:
Clue 1: Artificial rain was first used in this state in 1947.
Clue 2: The highest ground level wind speed in the United States was recorded in this state.
Clue 3: The first free public library in the United States was established in this state.
Clue 4: This state's motto is "Live Free or Die."
Clue 5: Dartmouth College, founded in 1769, is in this state.

New Hampshire! (Sounds like a place Hobbits would live... :cjlol: )
Clue 1: I am home to people of many different origins, cultural traditions, languages, ethnicities, and religions..
Clue 2: I am larger than France and Germany combined.
Clue 3: Many of us are members of the 197 First Nations.
Clue 4: I have more than 800 provincial parks and protected areas.
Clue 5: I will host the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

2) I was joined to the mainland by the longest bridge over ice-covered waters in the world, in June 1997.
3) I was the setting for a famous story about "Anne", and receive fans from around the world each year.

2. Its capital is the largest producer of maple syrup in the U.S.
3. Until 1996, it was the only state without a Wal-Mart.
4. The only capital city without a McDonalds
5.Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream company gives their ice cream waste to the local farmers who use it to feed their hogs. The hogs seem to like all of the flavors except Mint Oreo.

Ben, you are correct!
I'm going to guess Alabama, even though there were gold rushes in California and Alaska. The Black Hills aren't that close to an ocean.
