Just downloaded AVG for first time yesterday .I ran a scan and received the Back door Trogen on my system. Should I be wary of it ? The program was unable to quarantine it . How can I remove it?

Could be a false positive, but take no chances, run some online virus/trojan scans at Housecall, Panda or Symantec (with AVG disabled or it might interfere with the scan). Also run some trojan scans at Sygate online services with your firewall turned off (just during the scan) re-enable it asap.

If you find that you are infected with a trojan, call your credit card companies (if you have ever typed cc #s on your system) and inform them. Change all your passwords as soon as you are sure the trojan is removed.
