I downloaded Mozilla 1.5 today and have uninstalled 1.4 and installed 1.5 but I am having problems getting my sidebar setup. I can not figure out if 1.5 has a problem or if I just don't know how to do what I want to do. I am trying to add my Bookmarks and the Imported IE Favorites to the Sidebar but can not seem to get it to work. Has anyone installed the new version yet and know what I could be doing wrong?

I'm still trying to get a download. It seems the FTP site is bogged down.
Have you tried it through the bookmark manager on the toolbar?

Thanks Crockett. I took a look at the Bookmark Manager and could not see how you would use it to add the Bookmarks to the sidebar.

If it's anything like Firebird (which it is supposed to be) ctrl+b will bring up bookmarks on the sidebar.
I know they were having some trouble implementing a "real" sidebar to the Firebird code but haven't been keeping up with it lately.
Is the interface more similar to Firebird or Mozilla?
I just downloaded 1.4.1 for my daughter's pc and haven't played with it much, but it still looks like Mozilla, don't know about 1.5.

Thanks LeRoi. I am not much of a Mozilla or Firebird user but 1.5 still looks like Mozilla but it does seem to have some differences from 1.4. As I remember it in 1.4 it automatically put the Bookmarks into the sidebar but this version does not do that. When I try to Customize the tabs it does not add the Bookmarks like it should.
Firebird was easy to get the bookmarks into the sidebar but ctrl b in Mozilla 1.5 brings up the Bookmark Manager.

Try creating a different profile with a different profile name (one character difference is enough, but it is important to use a different name) and see if you can then add bookmarks to the sidebar.
You can sometimes correct problems like this by deleting xul.mfl (I do this from time to time, when it becomes over 3MB) from within your profile folder, this file can become corrupt and cause problems, especially with the default profile for some reason.
I think you can delete panels.rdf from the profile folder and it should return the sidebar to default configuration, which may correct the problem.
A new profile will fix most problems, of course this could be a problem with 1.5 that they overlooked in testing.

LeRoi I think I will wait to do this to see if anyone else has the problem before I do something like this. When I uninstalled 1.4 didn't the existing profile get deleted and a new one get created?

When you uninstall 1.4, if it didn't ask if you wanted to delete the profile folder as well, then it didn't get deleted from the Add/Remove uninstall. Only the directory folder would have been removed.
I wish I could get an installer download of 1.5 to help you out.

I had no trouble downloading the installer version. Maybe I was just lucky.
I used Add/Remove Pro to do the uninstall so I thought it had cleaned up everything but maybe it did not. I will uninstall 1.5 and make sure the profile is deleted before I re-install it.

Ok that fixed it. I noticed when I uninstalled 1.5 the profile got left behind so I deleted and reinstalled and now everything if fine.
Thanks guys for everything.
