Hi everyone,

Just to let you know what has been happening in the past few days. The first Les and I knew about MPC having problems was when the site disappeared on Thursday evening. After much investigating I discovered that for some reason (still don't know how or why) our domain name (mypcclinic.com) had been taken over by another server (nextpoint) as far as I can work out (let me see, how can I say this politely) is was some sort of administrative error by the registrar who holds the name. This resulted in two days and nights of phone calls and emails going back and forth between us in England and various people in the US. The first step was to get our name pointing back to our proper server asmallorange, and then we had to wait for our DNS propagation.

I spent all last night reloading my MPC link every 15 mins, hoping, but finally had to give up and get some sleep at 8.30 this morning. Still no change when I returned this afternoon, until an hour ago, seems it took longer to reach us in England than our members in the US, so a lot of you got here first. :)

Well now all is well, and I can dry my tears, and thank all of you for your patience waiting for our return. I would also like to thank all members who contacted me to offer their support and last but definitely not least, I would like to thank Les because without him, we would not be here now. :)

. . .I would like to thank Les because without him, we would not be here now. :)

I would also like to pass my thanks on to Amie for the hours she spent through the night until early morning trying to make sense of what had happened, the staff at ASO (a Small Orange ) our hosting company for the fast, friendly and knowledgeable assistance they gave, and most of all many thanks to Mike Farley who was able to contact the registrars to ultimately put things right.

And of course a thank you to you all for your patience

Les,

Nice to hear that Mike is still around. I haven't seen a post from him in ages.

Let me see if I can shed a little light on this…

Nexpoint.net is where mypcclinic.com was originally purchased through. I eventually found asmallorange (ASO) and we then had nexpoint point the domain name to ASO via something we call nameservers.

Somehow, someway, through the magic of the internet those nameservers were reset on Thursday. So instead of pointing to ASO it reverted back to nexpoint.net. I’m sure some of you caught a glimpse of the old MPC…kind of a walk down memory lane for those who were there at the beginning. But I digress…

Nexpoint is notorious for not following up with explanation (one of the reasons I no longer go through nexpoint) so we may never know why it happened, only that it happened and is fixed.

And now for some shameless proud daddy photos!

It must be all those extra miles down to this part of the world - I have only just got back in now - I thought I was gone for ever.
Thanks Les & Amie for bringing us all home.

Mike,

Nice to hear from you and with a baby like that you deserve to brag and post pictures. I wasn't here at the beginning but not long after. It was funny seeing the old mpc, one I had not seen before but the meet the staff was nice.

Thanks Amie and Les for all the constant effort you expand in our
behalf. In this weird and wonderful era of instant communication, one
frequently has to expect the unexpected. I was not able to get in until
late Friday. However, there was a notice of a post from BenHenry before
that. When I checked the MPC Favorites link, I was still unable to get into the site and was puzzled as to what was going on.
Congratulations to Carrie and Mike on their little doll. She sure is a cutie! I hope that you will soon be finished with your degree program, Carrie.
