I don't mind updating my AVG everyday, but I had it set up where it would auto update at 12:32am, 7 days a week. Now for unknown reasons it don't. Why?:hi:TIA:)

I don't use AVG, but I know with my Avast that the updates come at different times of the day, so perhaps there is not always an update available at 12.32am. On the other hand, perhaps something has corrupted the settings, so why not try changing the time to 12.33am, and see if that makes any difference. :)

do you use the free version or the paid version? In my free version I can't set the time, only time periods of 2 hour increments. Also, do you have an always on connection to the internet? I ask this because if you don't it will update when you go online.

I use the free version & can't set it for a specific time but at increments (i guess the word is).
I had & used Avast for a bit but when it came time to re register, the code they sent me never worked so I got angry & went back to AVG.
I kinda preferred Avast, but my patience is short when i go literally by the directions & it don't work.
I'll try re scheduling it for a different time to see if that helps, thanks.:hi:

Did you change the time, or did it start working properly on its own ?

Hi there

My advice is to dispense with AVG and download Avast! It is freeware for home users and is brilliant! It checks for updates every time you log onto the Internet. The link for you is -

JerryChance,
hello & thanks for your suggestion. Allow me to possibly repeat what I thought I said. probably in another thread in here but here it is.
I originally had AVG till I found out about Avast. Wanting a bit of a change, I downloaded & installed Avast & enjoyed it. Then it came time to re register it. Avast sent me the code to insert in that area but no matter how I tried, it never worked. I told avast about that problem (over a year ago now ) & have still not heard from them. I like AVG & Avast both, but until I can find a work around or a "LEGAL" solution, it'll be AVG.:):hi:

I sent avast an email telling them my situation with their nice product & am waiting for a reply.:hi:

Hi Surfer,

Seems there might be something re dial up v/s dsl. I know I do mine (avg update) manually...since dial up.
Don't know...don't mind.......and it works just great. If ever they horse and buggy cable out in these woods...I'll be tickled pink...I think?

Good day to you.:linda:
