Every time I open it, I get this box saying to check for updates. I do, but there haven't been any in a very long time. It's saying by now, about 22 days since I got one. Have I got to get a new version to get updates now? It never has them on the old version anymore
Thanks-
Don't use Adaware, but have read of other people saying there haven't been any updates for a while. I know they did this a few years ago, and had no updates for months so many people including me stopped using it.

I don't recall that, but if that's the way they are, I'll just hang around and wait. They don't catch major league stuff anyway. Spybot is my main "baddy" catcher.

If you are using SE you have to D/L and install the update Manually.

Its my understanding ALL updates for Ad-aware SE have stopped as of 12/07. You might go to their website to verify this. :hi:

AdAwareSE has been discontinued by it's creator, Lavasoft. You need to download the newest version which is AdAware2007.
Manual updates, meaning you had to go to their website and download them, it couldn't be done as usual via the program itself, were available for AdAwareSE until the 14th of January I believe, though I just looked and couldn't find any there.
A word of caution, you can download AdAwareSE from various "outside" sites but updates to the program would have to come from Lavasoft and of course they are no longer available so advise others if they wish to use the program to get the newest version, Lavasoft still offers a free version of the new program just as in the past.

It says "Upgrade" on the program. Will that do it?

What I need is a URL to get the one that will get updates.

Well, I'll just go ahead and post.
I ran a scan and it found 47 infections. I have no idea how to get them off, now they're out of sight, after another scan. How do I delete or clear them off after a scan? I don't know if those 47 are still in the program or not.

Sure does! Thanks, Just Rachel! I even printed it off for reference.
One thing that puzzles me is, when I booted up this a.m., the welcome screen hung in for a long time. I just assume that Adaware was doing something it needed to do, and won't worry about that. Is this normal?
