Before you get too comfortable that's what this application "malware"
"adware" says, that's the rub this could be one or the other or both. About two months ago this happened for the first time, whatever it is doesn't seem to care where you've been surfing, it just appears. First you see a window, an oblong shaped window, in the upper left hand corner a logo that says Microsoft but its not the traditional Microsoft logo. the message reads, free XP anti-virus download, your computer may have malware
or adware, in the lower right hand corner it says (recommended) pfft! then it says run or exit, caution I ckicked exit, the download started I clicked the red X still nothing this bug is going to download like it or not. I hit shut off computer the download continues so I shut it down hard. After my computer rebooted that window was gone until two weeks later and there it was again only this time I didn't get near it, I just rebooted and as before it wasn't there. I ran my spyware and came up clean I hate to think what would have hapened if the download would have completed. And this program has an official look to it. This is just a heads up so if it happens to you, don't touch it, its done it four times now, um... has antone else had this happen? be careful out there...

Thanks,

I think we need more info on this to be certain that all are well advised. Doesn't sound good to me.

I went to a couple that day, one I can't remember but the other one
Photo Bucket, I've pick things up in the past not there but
other places that have smiles, animations and etc so if I had
to point fingers the winner would be the bucket. I posted this because things that we think are clean could be hiding some real monsters.
My advice if it don't fit don't click :cjlol:

Thanks jholland, I'm thinking now it was Photo Bucket because once when I was there a real nasty Mal ware virus tried to climb on board but my Spy Sweeper threw it in quarantine then I had to reboot like I was flushing it down the commode. Watch your email's carefully there's
always a chance to get a nasty virus there.

Today confirmed it Photo Bucket came in by 5 lengths and going away.
I needed something there this morning and when I cleared that window there it was, and remember it is (recommended) that you download it..
