Is AVG free version really safe and effective??

I have not personally used AVG, but it does come well recommended on other sites I visit, along with Avast, which I used to use, and my current program which is ClamWin, so plenty to chose from if you fancy a change, :)

I've been using AVG for several years & no hassles. I just downloaded the 8.0 new version a few minutes ago. :thumbs:

In an independent test I read three free AV products in order of effectiveness are:

1. AntiVir
2. AVAST
3. AVG

I mostly use AVAST.
