I've finally D\L Mozilla Firebird a few days ago but need some help with a few things. When I go to drag an item into the toolbar or remove one it doesn't want to stay.
Also in the extenions how do you get some of them into the toolbar, I've got one so far to go in.
One last thing I use MSN as my homepage...is that ok? Thanks Jan
Ladyj
What items are you trying to drag to the Toolbar, and how are you doing this, by right clicking on an empty space on the Toolbar and selecting Customize, also which extensions are you having problems with, they don't necessarily show up on the Toolbar, you customize them by going to Tools > Options > Extensions.
I have only been using Firebird for about 4 weeks, but am head over heals in love and would never go back to IE, tabbed browsing is better than sliced bread. :thLt: There are always so many people so eager to help with any problems too, as we all care about Firebird so much and want everyone else to feel the same.
Oh, no reason at all why you should not use MSN or any page you want for your home page, mine of course is MPC

Amie, no I wasn't doing it that way. I was just dragging them and dropping, I'll go and try that and let you know. Should I also make it my default? Thanks Jan

Should I also make it my default?
That is purely a personal choice, of course I made Firebird the default on my computer, but then I receive over 100 emails every day with links in which I want to open in Firebird and not IE. The only time I ever open IE now is to visit windows update site once a month or so.

I'm sorry but what you'd ask how I was doing the dragging and dropping is how I was doing it. I can drag the Print and History up and it gone next time I go back into Mozilla.
Also in the exterions I'm trying to get PopUp Counter and Image Zoomer in the toolbar with no luck. Maybe I'll get all this before long. Jan

If you make changes to the toolbar, I find it works best to close and reopen Firebird after.
Also the Xul.mfl file can be deleted if changes don't stick, it can become corrupt and cause unusual problems. It is located inside the xxxxxxxx.slt folder (random named folder inside the profile folder with a .slt extension). Just delete Xul.mfl and it will be recreated when you reopen Firebird. Delete this file with Firebird closed.

LeRoi where do I find these
On Windows XP the path is usually
%AppData%\Phoenix\Profiles\default\xxxxxxxx.slt\, where xxxxxxxx is a random string of 8 characters. Just browse to C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Application Data\Phoenix\Profiles\ and you should find it.

Amie & LeRoi, I did all that but I still can't keep things in the toolbar. I don't know if it's something I've not doing or not got installed right.
What Ext's do I really need. Jan

>>What Ext's do I really need<<
Just depends on your personal needs/tastes. Just don't install Quicknote and Googlebar to the same profile or globally, they will not work together, same for tabprefs and tabbrowser extensions.
These are the extensions I have installed (see attachment):
These are the ones I find the most useful;

Jane, I still don't show it or when I right click either, I even rebooted to check. I'll be glad when I get these things worked out...keeps you mind alert. Thanks for the reply. Jan
Not even when you type something in this reply window ?
This is what I get on the rightclick when posting .
