I don't know how many of you play Yahtzee, but for those who do, I'd like to know the highest score you've ever achieved (estimates are OK if it's been awhile). This is strictly "honor system," by the way.
The highest I ever got was 736 in one game (it took 5 Yahtzees). Now, does anyone know the highest possible score in Yahtzee? This is going by standard Yahtzee scoring rules, where...after the first Yahtzee in one game...further Yahtzees score a bonus of 100 points each.
According to my calculations, the highest possible score in one game (standard Yahtzee....13 hands....not Triple Yahtzee) is 1340. I would say it is virtually impossible to achieve, by the way (I'm guessing the odds would be the same as getting 5 Royal Flushes in a row in one Poker game, on the deal, without having to draw cards).
After the small and large straights, all other hands would have to be a Yahtzee (for the top half, each in their own number.....five 1's, five 2's, five 3's, etc....and they would all have to be made after the initial Yahtzee on the lower half to score the bonus 100 points).
That also scores 25 points for a full house, regardless of the numbers (a Yahtzee can be used for a full house), plus the bonus of 100.
It is also using the rules I understand, that you cannot use a Yahtzee for either of the Straights (for the sake of this post, let's just say that's the way it is).
Of course, 3 and 4 of a kind, and Chance, would all be five 6's.
The first Yahtzee would, naturally, score 50 points with no bonus.
There's no point to this, by the way.....I'm just curious to know if my 736 has ever been beaten.
