Queation About Avast

As I was doing a full scan with Avast, I noticed this

"You can use the controls below to run a pre-defined scan or to create a custom scan of your own. Multiple scans can be run at the same time."

My question is why run multiple scans when a full scan coverers all? OR does it? Or am I mis understanding it? TIA:)

If you have removable media devices, for safety you may like to scan each one when they are connected.
Also if you are using Cloud computing (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloud_computing) you may wish to check whatever service you are using.

No doubt others could expand on these 2 examples.

Ok, so if I understand this correctly, flashdrives are not included in full scans. Understood.
I don't have/use cloud computing.

Actually I don't know, but I should think that all drives connected to the computer can be scanned,
it depends how you set it up in the Avast Scan Computer interface.

I was thinking more of drives that are not normally connected to the computer at all times,
and may have been connected to other computers.
