Thanks Don't use the Immunize feature as it conflicts with SpywareBlaster (if you have SpywareBlaster) and disables part of it. You will use SpyBot only for scanning purposes.:)

I have used both Spybot and SpywareBlaster together for many years, always immunized in Spybot and never, ever had any problems, so no idea why you would say this and in my opinion it is bad advice. What makes you think it disables part of SpywareBlaster, do you get an error message or a notification?

I use both Spybot S&D and SpywareBlaster,
have just check both and they both show I am fully immunised.
I have never had any problems with these two programs conflicting with one another.

I will ask Judy if she'll explain. If I'm incorrect,I'll remove the post. I too have Spybot S&D & SpywareBlaster & I understand it as saying one don't need to immunize with Spybot if you have SpywareBlaster.

It was noted at the SpyBot website that if you use both programs that very often when updating the SpyBot Immunize feature it will then there can be some portions of the SpywareBlaster restricted sites portion which will then be disabled. You then will need to always check SpywareBlaster each and every time after a SpyBot Immunized update to be certain this has not happened. If it does you will have to re-enable that protection in SpywareBlaster. This won't happen every time but has been noted by SpyBot developers who say they are "working on it". This was posted in their forum back in October of 2009 (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=123).
This is because Spybot adds the sites to the restricted zone at a different level than SpywareBlaster does....SpywareBlaster has more... Restricted Sites, Active X "Kill Bits" and cookie blocks than in Spybot. If you use multiple products that add entries to the registry for sypware protection and undo or disable the protection in one product, it may remove some of the protection installed by the other. You should re-immunize or re-enable the protection in the other products as appropriate.
I had noticed this happening quite often on my own computer over the course of several SpyBot Immunize updates that the SpywareBlaster Restricted Site portion would then have protection turned off for multiple sites which was why I checked it out. When I found that SpyBot knew this was a problem with their program doing this I elected to turn off the Immunize feature. Since that time this has been noted to be a problem on other forums where I also post and at two where I am an Admin. At both of those forums we made the decision to continue to recommend both programs of course, but to NOT use the Immunize Feature of SpyBot.
This isn't a hard and fast rule, just what I happen to recommend. I firmly believe that "less is more". I am fully protected, never have a single item found in any of the scans I run so it works for me.
The same recommendation also applies to the TeaTimer portion of SpyBot because it is absolutely KNOWN that it will interfere with fixes needed when removing infection from the registry. At both of those forums we recommend never using TeaTimer of Spybot.

If I read your link correctly, it will only happen
if you do a Spybot > Immunize > "Undo" followed by an "immunize" Not something that most of us would do.
Easily checked by bring up the other program to see it's immunisation status
I do not use the "TeaTimer" portion of Spybot S&D for the reasons jholland1964 has explained.

I saw the Undo also, but that is not how it happened to me. Just everytime I would update Immunize then SpywareBlaster would have items removed from protection. I had never, ever used Undo on Immunize until I realized it was disabling portions of protection in SpywareBlaster.
As I said each can do as they wish, for me, Immunize disabled a portion of a program I absolutely know protects my computer and when SpyBot can absolutely guarantee that it will not conflict with SpywareBlaster then I will use their Immunize portion but so far they cannot. One should not have to check other programs everytime one updates others so for now I use SpyBot only for weekly scans.
