I ran a search on google that brought me to your site. I have been receiving the following error before each new IE screen comes up: mainAutomation server can't create object. I noticed that a Maggie posted this same issue but she is using WinXP. Well not all of us are up to date on our operating systems and I am still using Win98SE. Do you have a fix for this issue using 98SE?

My IE info is as follows:
Version: 6.0.2800.1106is
Update Versions: SP1, Q832894, Q330994, q313829

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to MPC,

I did a Google search and found some mentions of that error.

I think what you may need is the msxml file downloadable here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/results...&DisplayLang=en (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/results.aspx?productID=&freetext=msxml&DisplayLang=en)

It mentions that it fixes an issue with the 832894 update.

Not sure which one you need tho', I think #3 or 4 in the list?

It also mentions a program called Visio, have you installed that program by chance? Look at #7 in the list for info.

You probably should wait for more advice, I would if I were you.

You can try an IE Repair.

1- Control Panel
2- Add/Remove Programs
3- Highlight Internet Explorer
4- Click on remove
5- Screen pops up asking you what you whish to do
6- click or choose "repair"
7- reboot

Yes it is much easier to Repair IE in the previous versions of Windows than XP so try repairing it as Alex suggested.

I have tried the repair and the suggested download. Neither fix has worked for me. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Automation server can't create object
Could be caused by BHOs or spywares,  Or:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=274486 ( ME )

I found this at Henri Leboeuf's site http://www.generation.net/~hleboeuf/ The MS link refers to ME but it may be worth having a look at.
Certainly would scan for Spyware though. AdAware or similar. BHO Demon is a good BHO detector

Run Adaware (as suggested by Eve) and, should the problem persist, download and install the latest Windows Script (http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url:(downloads/list/webdev.asp) (just install it over the top of the currently installed version).
