Line across picture

I have my first digital camera and first used it yesterday. It is a very inexpensive unit but most of what I wanted it for, it will be fine. Out of 20 pictures taken yesterday, 2 have a horizontal line across it in the middle of the frame. The pixels in this line are all mixed up like something was drug across the film in a film camera. This only happened on 2 of the pictures, the rest are fine. Any suggestions? It is an Argus DC1512 camera.

I'll try but I have not done this before. Minutes later-Ok so much for that. The file size is too large. I'll try cropping the picture and try again.

Ok. second try. I hope this works. The line is just above the center line of the picture.

Hi colonel,
I do notice the line you mentioned. Did you happen to push any buttons, or try to take another shot while the camera was in the process of transferring the image from the sensor to the memory? Some cameras take a while to do this, which seems like an eternity when you want to get another shot right away.
Can you post the other defective picture? Were these two taken consequetively? Were your batteries still strong at this time? What kind of batteries were you using?

The pictures were not consecutive, there was a delay between pictures. The batteries were alkalines and fresh that day. The second shot had a line identical to the one I posted. I am having trouble logging on here so I will try to post the other shot tonight.

Colonel the picture above that line seems to be blury to.

Just A thought Colonel... Where was the sun when you took the Pic's that have this line. Also what kind of camera is it ( kodak ect.) what setting were you using.. I would love to help give you an answer but need more info

I had forgotten all about this, The camera was an Argus, it always had the lines in the pictures until the day it died.
So thank you but there is no need to do anymore on this one.
