To change the whole system font you have to tamper with the registry.

Start by opening regedit. type "regedit" in the run option.

go to :

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\FontSubstitutes

Edit the "MS Shell Dlg" String Value [REG_SZ] in the right hand pane and modify its "Microsoft Sans Serif" default value to match any other font name installed on your system, like times new roman or comis sans ms.

exit, and reboot to note the change.

Regedit is a program that comes with Windows that you can use to edit the Windows registry.

I always thought you could just go to the display, settings for 'Icon,' and that would just change the system font. that's what I have been doing, and it seemed to work for me.

Eventhough changing that way works Lurch, it leaves some text unchaged. This tweak changes everything.

I will make a list of the items it changes.
