Its a long and lonely road home when you're only little. Not such a good photo, but I love the subject!

Correct Carol! My darling Charlie. He spent the day with us yesterday and took us to feed the ducks. He was hoping to find a fox as he had seen one in a book. We have no foxes in NZ!

Great picture, Eve! I'll try to round up a fox for little Charlie.

It is strange to think of animals that we take for granted that others only see in pictures.

We are told now that there are more urban foxes in the UK than those that live in their normal countryside habitat.

The urban foxes though still wild are not so afraid of people. About 5 or 6 years ago our car was in the garage for some work on the engine and only being about 1 1/2 miles away I walked back home from leaving the car there. As I came up to a light controlled pedestrian crossing to get across a busy road in the centre of Cheltenham I realised that the dog that was walking along side of me was actually a fox. The fox was walking a bit faster than me and got to the crossing first where it waited for the lights to change and traffic to stop before crossing the road with me. As soon as the fox had crossed the road it then trotted along the footpath before turning into someones garden.

If only it was as easy to get children to learn where it safe to cross roads ;) .
