Getting Rid of the "Links" folder in MSIE Favorites

(You may have deleted it only to see it the next time you started MSIE; Windows re-creates it again and again.) How to make it go away:

(1) Use TweakUI. Go to the "IE" tab, uncheck "Show Links on Favorites Menu." If you don't have / don't like TweakUI, you can

(2) Use Windows File Attributes. Find and open the folder "Favorites"; select the sub-folder "Links," right-click on it, click on "Properties," and check the "Hidden" box. "Links" will stop appearing. Or

(3) Use Regedit.
Go to "My Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar," highlight "Toolbar" in left pane, click "Registry" in main menu, choose "Export Registry File" and save that file just in case. Then right-click on "LinksFolderName" in right pane, click on "Modify," use your delete key to make "Links" into "", and close Regedit. Next time you open MSIE, just delete the "Links" folder in the "Favorites" menu; it won't come back.
