certain advertising components, that may gather statistics as well as detection of various
keylogging and other spy utilities. In addition, it also securely removes PC and Internet
usage tracks, including browser history, temporary pages, cookies (with option to keep
selected) and more. The program offers an attractive outlook-style interface that is easy
to use and multi-lingual. SpyBot-S&D allows you to exclude selected cookies, programs or
extensions from being reported, allowing you to prevent false positive messages for items
that you dont want to be alerted of every time. It can even scan your download directory for
files that have been downloaded, but not yet installed, allowing you to detect unwanted
programs before you even install them. SpyBot produces a detailed and easy to understand
report before it deletes any files and allows you to deselect any item that you do not want
to be processed. In addition, a recovery feature allows you to restore your settings if

THAT IS THE END OF MY TEXT FILE ON THAT CD
OK NOW FOR YOUR SUGGESTIONS??

Honestly, to make it 'user friendly' you should treat it as a website. Make each page an html doc and have a simple navigation for people to smoothly navigate the cd.

The other option is to step it up and have it completly ran within flash. Of course you would have to know flash and own a copy. =)

On a side note, if it does not contained pirated software or violations of copyright I'd be very interested in getting a copy. :)

Yes, I'd like to get a copy too, as I always have friends asking me about the same things, just tell me when you want to sell me one. I agree with Mikes recommendations, a little more user friendly would be better. Pretend your a newbie and look at it from that view, how would you like to see it so you could understand it easier. The basic idea is great, a definite go! :)

I second (third?) what Mike and Randy say. My only suggestion is to include some cautions about downloading lots of stuff (and not knowing where it gets kept on one's computer, thus ultimately slowing the computer down if not worse) and about installing new programs, how almost all programs make changes in one's registry that are NOT undone by uninstalling them. There's a wonderful freeware tool, "Test Run" by bernie@testrun.cjb.net, that makes a copy of the registry and then lets you install using that registry so that you don't really mess up things in your real registry. He says, "There are no secret files written to your hard disk, and no Registry entries made on installation. This series of files requires less than 365kb, and can be cleanly uninstalled from the Start Menu or the Desktop." There's no better way to learn than by experience, but if you don't have to live with the consequences of your inexperience (i.e., having all this junk on your computer, causing problems you haven't the faintest idea about, building up and getting worse till you're convinced your computer is beyond repair), that's even better.

In a thread on the "using Windows" forum, GrannyD tells how she discovered Comet Cursors on her computer. When I had my run-in with Comet Cursors, I wasn't using Spybot S&D; I was looking around on the web for cursor-related things and innocently downloaded from Comet Cursors, and found out later just how hard it is to get rid of everything that applications put in your system. I wish I had known about "Test-Run" then! and had used it also for some games that have serious bugs in them, that keep crashing your computer, etc.
