Tired of your windows explorer shortcut in XP always opening on my documents?

Replace the target path with this "%windir%\explorer.exe /e,/root,C" (without quotes) and windows explorer will open on the root of drive c!

Enjoy

This is what I use for Windows XP:

%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e, /n

Sorry, but I came in late on these posts. I've been trying to figure out how to create a shortcut for Win Explorer, can any of you tell me what to do? Thanks:jig:

Thanks for the quick link to My Computer, but I was looking for a desktop shortcut to WINDOWS EXPLORER. Any thoughts on that? I had it on my last computer, but forgot how to do it to put it on my new computer. The old computer was Win XP also. Thanks.

P.S. I realize I can get to the same place from My Computer, but that wasn't what I was looking for. Would appreciate any other help available for Win Explorer.

Right click on your desktop -> New -> Shortcut

Location is: %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe

That's it! :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you. That was way too easy! If I had remembered that it was in my accessories folder I probably could have done that myself. :)
