Scrolling pages

Just in case there is any one else as 'behind' as I must be I thought I would pass this on.
I have only just discovered it! :egg:

To scroll DOWN any web page hit the Space Bar. To scroll UP hold down shift while you hit it.

Works for me Amie. I've used the space bar to scroll for some time. Use keyboard instead of mouse whenever I can.

Eve, your posts are quite refreshing and useful. I suspect I don't recall even 1/10 of the various keyboard shortcuts available. I'm thinking a new forum on this board title "Eve's Tips n Tricks" would be useful. No doubt some glib individual can come up with a better forum title :D

Eve: The page up, page down keys, do exactly that also! Just in case you've forgotten. :D:D George.

I usually use the arrow keys, about 90% of the time! :)

Just in case you've forgotten. No George I had not forgotten! :) and hitting Home takes me to the top of the page! The way I usually scroll is to press down my scroll wheel thingy and then I just have to move the mouse. I am not sure where this came from. Is it an XP power tool? Works anyway.

Now there's a tip I'd forgotten. :D:D I "Never" use the scrollwheel lock. Had forgotten all about it, that's why!! I've gotten so used to using the keyboard as much as possible, I rarely use the mouse. Guess you've awakened the scroll in me! :flower: George.

It's better than the other shortcuts because you can do it with your left hand and keep your right hand on the mouse; also gives left hand exercise. Remember all those old function keys that were on the left side of the keyboard?

Works on the downward scroll but not on the upward scroll with the Shift key. Oh, well...I still have scroll lock. Great tip! :hi:
