Well, for my birthday - my sister gave me a (yep, you guessed it!) a digital camera. It's an Olympus D-380. Needless to say, I have never owned a digital camera and I don't know the first thing about it. Could someone tell me the advantages other than the obvious of putting the pictures on your computer? Thanks! :hammer:
Nice one Linda, you will love it! IMHO the main advantage is being able to delete the duds without having to pay for them to be printed before you see they are no good.
Then you can play with them, resize them, print them, send them to friends and family, spend hours putting your pics in albums, spend more hours searching your computer or cds for the one you want, take part in the All Things Digital forum!............................:violin:
Congratulations and enjoy :) You won't ever have to buy another roll of film . You can choose which and how many pictures you want to save , or print . Just delete the rest  Get at least 128 MB memory card (and keep the one that came w/camera as a backup ) and also a battery charger is a good idea . It's a lot of money from the start , but after you have it set you will be happy and you will enjoy your camera .
Linda, that's great! You'll have a ball with it! Another great advantage is seeing your photos immediately rather than have to wait to get them processed. The $ saved in film and getting them developed more than makes up for the initial cost. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with:)
Here's one of my hosta, taken in the evening....
