My wife has decided she wants a digital camera, but she wants it "real simple", point and click! Does anyone have suggestions? One youv'e had and liked:) ? There's so many to choose from I don't know where to start:eek: TIAFAI
Kodak EasyShare LS420 - can't get easier than this. I love it. Only 2 megapixels but seems to do ok.
See a review at http://www.steves-digicams.com/2002_reviews/kodak_ls420.html

Randy,
Most digital cameras have a very easy point and shoot feature. I originally had a Kodak DC240 zoom 1.3mega pixel, I still have it and I paid nearly £500 a few years ago and the price dropped to less than £100. But it still produces great pics at up to 7x5 inches for printingl
I now have a canon a80 which is 4 mega pixel and even though it has many features and full manual control it still has a simple point and shoot feature.
So I am saying for the average photographer even a 1.3 mp produces good results. As Eve mentions, a 2mega pixel is all you need. There is certainly no need to go above 4mp and you are inclined to get more noise the higher you go. A 4mp will produce a lovely A4 print.

Randy,
I will go along with Eve, as I have a Kodak LS443 which is a 4 megapixel camera and I purchased it for my wife who insisted on a simple point and click picture taking camera for her use.
I was led by two different national magazines here in OZ that endeavoured to give their readers the best camera for the various price ranges.
The LS443's results were more than comparable and better in most cases than other 5 megapixel cameras, that included other kodak's.
One of the main decisions is how you would like to power your camera as that is your ongoing cost. I preferred to buy the more expensive Li Lon battery which came with the camera and should last a long time as it can be recharged they say a thousand times plus but that is of course is extra initial cost.
Keep making enquiries from friends, magazines etc until you find the cost and features you wan't. Make up a list of what you wan't and then look around.

My cameras use rechargeable AA Ni Mh cells which can be bought quite cheaply anywhere.
