AVG has a program called bootup.exe which does a Boot Scan before Windows Loads. Which checks the boot sector and all of the files used to Load Windows, for Infection.
It is a DOS Based Prg, thus it can not be used on 2K, NT or XP.
When my 98SE Install CD Exploded months ago I started messing with a 2K Install on that computer. Something told me to stay with FAT32, glad that I did. That way when I got a Replacement 98SE CD it would be easier to go back if I wanted to. Especially after all of my reading, I could convert to NTFS Later if I wanted the added security it offers.
What bothered me was that I could no longer get bootup.exe to Work, and I want to cover all bases to Protect Myself.
I searched and tried everything, but nothing would allow me to use the Bootup File.
The Bootup.exe has to run in Pure DOS, not Windows DOS. Thus it will not work from within Windows.
All of that said, I found a Work Around, and Glad I Did.
Work Around,
Use a 98SE Bootup Floppy on which you have also saved bootup.exe.
Now Insert that Floppy and turn the Computer ON.
When the Menu comes up select W/O CDROM Support.
At the "A" Prompt type bootup.exe and hit Enter.
This will Only Work on a FAT or FAT32 Drive
The reason I am writing this,
After Installing 2K and all of the needed Drivers, using FAT32, I then got several M$ Updates. Then I got ZA and AVG and installed them.
Everything seemed Fine, or so I thought.
After several reboots, ZA was acting up as was AVG. I could not Display WEB Pages even though I was Connected. But I found that I could get the Pages if I turned ZA Off until after I got Connected, then turn it back On.
This really bothered Me. So I was ready to revert back to 98SE. Because nothing I did helped things, they kept getting Worse with each Reboot.
I suspected a Boot Virus, and as it turned out I was Right.
Just the short time I was unprotected the Boot Sector Did get Infected.
But I didn't really want to Dump 2K without really giving it a Fair Shake.
And I darn sure Didn't want to Start over with 2K.
Thus I was willing to try anything, and keep at until I found a way around the Bootup.exe Problem not being able to work in the NT Enviorment.
When I got the Idea of the Work Around, I tried it.
And guess what, It Worked, and found 2 Viruses and cured them.
Since then I removed Juno, AVG and ZA. Then I reinstalled them from the CD I Made. Since then I have Rebooted at Least 20 Times and All is Well.
Next step is to Install SP4 from the Update CD from M$.

Also helps the rest of us-- to have a how-to-work-around for something that I expect will come up in the next several months. Thanks for the details!
