FastFolder by BB runs in the system tray and allows quick access to any of eight user-selected folders as well as system folders. It provides an easy way to access frequently used folder locations without having to open MyComputer. You can choose to open folders in a normal folder view or Explorer mode. If you need to define more than 8 custom folders, you can run multiple instances and select a different icon for each.

Oh yes. I had it installed on my main PC that got hit by lighting and loved it. I have not got it installed on this laptop because I am having to watch how much I have running on it.

That is why I just have shortcuts to my most often used folders in the Quick Launch area, which can be accessed with one click, and don't take up any resources.

I never use a program to do something which I can do for myself.

I agree Amie, that's what I do. For the internet I use freeware "NetLaunch" and that will automatically open some programs I use whilst connected. But then will automatically close them on clearing down.
