Juno & Modem

One of my computers, all running Windows 98SE and IE6 and Juno.
When I try to connect using Juno it says cannot find Modem.
I have check Device Manager and the modem is there and says it is working properly. I already tried running System File Checker, It Found Nothing.
I just tried to use the Phone Dialer Windows Program and it said another Program was using the Modem. So I went to Task Manager and shut everything down except Systray and Explorer. Then I tried the Dialer again, it still said something else was using the Modem.
Any Ideas?

Hi Bruce

Do you have a PCI modem or ISA modem in that machine ?

Could you copy and past your IRQ settings for us ?

In the bio's you might have a setting for "assign modem to IRQ" if you have that type of setting could you tell us what it's set at ?

Are you getting a message like "port is already in use" or something like that ?

How many ISA slots do you have ? Have you tried switching slots ? You can try and disable com 1 in the bio's,that leaves you with com 2 IRQ 2 or 4
