No Jane I don't know where a paint program would be.I have always just used Irfanview for this never a problem before. What would the paint program be under??
paint is Start-Programs -Accessories-Paint . If it works then make yourself a shortcut (rightclick on paint and send shortcut to desktop ) so you will have it handy :)
SSteve-Not sure if this is the same on XP.
Control Panel\Add\Remove Programs\Windows Setup\System Tools\uncheck Clipboard\Ok\Apply then go in again and recheck and Ok\Apply. This will reinstall Clipboard and maybe help if you have a corrupted CB. If not it will not change anything else.
PS-I should have ask you is the clipboard showing the image if you open it? This way we can eliminate the print screen key as the culprit.

Why don't you uninstall Irfanview and download and install the new 3.85 version of Irfanview I posted about in the Software and Freeware forum. If the problem is with Irfanview this might fix it. If it does not try pasting into another software such as Word or WordPad to see if the image is actually going into the Clipboard.
