I think this is a great freeware and a big improvement on the microsoft windows explorer. Get it at:
2xExplorer (http://www.netez.com/2xExplorer/intro.html)
You just unzip all files to a folder you create, anywhere, and nothing else is added to your computer apart from one entry to registry at HKCU. The uninstall is simple, just delete the folder and all its files and that one registry entry.

I have 2xExplorer installed but had already been using a product called PowerDesk Pro for several years and just love it. You can download a freeware version called PowerDesk Express from the below link:

PowerDesk Express does not have all the features of the Pro version but as I remember it, been many years :) , it was very good even without all the nice features of the Pro version.

Actually Bob I did purchase Power desk pro a few years ago and it is very good but since my reformat have not reinstalled it. I am using 2x for the moment and quite like it, and it doesn't install much on your computer.

PS My Powerdesk Pro 4 will not install properly in Me (I used to have 98fe) it says there is a compatibility issue and to contact the company. The product has however been sold to another company. I am awaiting a reply from an email I sent.
