A few people liked this on Worldstart, so I'm bringing it here. -- I cut out a piece of AC filter that I buy and tape it over the intake opening of my PC tower. Just make sure you change it at the end of the month. :) http://img174.exs.cx/img174/2571/dust25td.th.jpg (http://img174.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img174&image=dust25td.jpg)

Doesn't that restrict the air flow somewhat? How are the temps. on your CPU?

That's a good point. It's a clever idea, but I'm not sure the ends justify the heat. Dust is only a problem when your pc has not been cleaned out on a regular basis. When I had 8 fans in my pc even then a cleaning with the compressed air once every couple months kept it on good condition. Then again, I probably had so much air flow there was no time for the dust to han onto anything. ;)

The filter is so thin and light it doesn't restrict the air flow at all. But you made me think about it. How do I test mt CPU temp? Is there any freeware out that tells you the temp? Thank You

I have a temperature monitor that came with the Intel motherboard as an extra (it had to be installed separately). It's called 'Active Monitor'; maybe there's something like it on your mboard-drivers CD.
Is there any freeware out that tells you the temp?
I use the free version of HDDTemperature from PalickSoft which can be downloaded HERE (http://www.softforall.com/Utilities/Optimizers/HDD_Temperature09040209.htm)

Thank You all for your download sites. I choose Eves, HDD temperature. It seems like a cool little toy that sits in the system tray telling you the hard drive temp. Mine is staying around 30 degrees celsius, give or take a few.
