amb141

>>What's the 'most silly' moment you've ever experienced?<<
Final exam in a College Theatre Dept. acting class. We were being evaluated on a scene we had prepared. It was a beautiful spring day -- the theatre we were performing in had windows which were open and a warm zephyr was blowing in bringing in the smells of budding spring flowers. My partner and I were the first to go -- we were doing the seduction scene from Richard III and we actually got through it, although we somehow did a "loop" and repeated a section of dialog -- but I had the almost uncontrollable urge to break out in laughter.
The second pair started their scene -- but they couldn't control their urge and actually did break up in the middle. The professor (a "grand old man of the theatre" type) was stern.
The third pair got about the same distance into their scene and the same thing happened. The professor was nonplussed.
Same with the fourth and fifth pairs. By that time the rest of us (the "audience") were uncontrollable. You have to remember that we took our Theatre majors very seriously and we were somewhat in awe of the professor. I don't think that he ever recovered. He grumbled something about our lack of "discipline" (actually, the problem was just the opposite -- we were so wound up that the hint of spring outside pushed us over the edge) and rescheduled the exam for the next day. And the next day everything was back to dull, normal, and boring.
BTW -- I brought up the question about baby names because I was thinking about an old college friend of Welsh ancestry who wanted to name his firstborn "Maddock" (great name) but with the Welsh spelling which would have been "Maddog".
Someone had to point out to him that "Mad Dog Jones", while a fine name for Alcatraz, might not go over too well in the first grade.
His son ended up being named Griffud, which is Welsh for Griffith.
What color did you paint your first college apartment. Was it black?

When I paint, it's always dull, boring white. Always has been, Just can't make up my mind otherwise. :D
Did you name your first car?
amb141
05-13-2005, 03:31 PM
No, but a friend of mine named her car "Cognito" so she could always travel "in cognito". Naming your car seems to be a very midwestern thing to do -- although I did know some folks in DC who had an Edsel which they referred to as "Edsel".
Do you sing in the shower? Well?
