Hi,
I have just installed MyIE2 and the weather plugin is there at the side. But I enter a city and click on search and the city disappears and nothing happens. Please tell me How.
Thanks
John
PS I can't open the attachment, is it some setting in MyIE2? I now see it opened under a tab, so that's ok.
Type in the city , click on search , pick the city if there are more than one . Click OK(beside the city ). enter the city again and click OK again . That is the only way it works for me .

Hello Jane.
I type in a city, click on search and nothing happens except that it says "script error" at the bottom.
John
PS I think I will uninstall, probably a bug in the version I have (the latest)
But here is a screen shot showing the error message.
Before I do anything drastic, I wonder if Ranger Bob is around to advise?
John , I would just delete the old Weather plugin from the folder (programs-MyIE2-plugins ) and download a new Weather plugin and install . Maybe RB will know better .
John , I just thought of something else , You might want to disable all the filters, just for a while , when you are setting this up. Maybe that gives you that script error . Don't forget to put them back in ,when you are finished .

The plugin may have been corrupted in the download--I would do what Jane said: delete it, and reinstall it from another download.

Thanks Jane & Mike, I will try that, I used to have this browser before I did my reformat, after RB recommended it highly. Then the weather plugin worked. Maybe it is just the plugin thats faulty. I will look at their website to see if there is a seperate download.
John
MyIE2 is a great browser John :jig: Good luck :thRt:

Did you download the plugin from this link? It basically is the unofficial My IE2 Plugin Website. :)

You might like to try out the Slim version of the Weather plugin. Many people like it better since the sidebar does not have to be so wide with it.

Hello Bob, I will try that. I have downloaded the Com file that includes all the plugins again and it still has the problem, I will have to try your path tomorrow. Many thanks
John
PS I downloaded from the official website and they put me on to majorgeeks.

I prefer to download the zip file so I can control which plugins get installed. Many of the plugins available for My IE2 will not be found on the My IE Website or the COM download.

Have now d/l the zip and weather slim so will let you all know how it goes.
John
PS Have now installed MyIE2 again and installed the slim weather plugin but it still will not work! I also tried the calculator plugin and that works!
It looks like it is a fault with the weather plugin. Just get "Script error".
I wonder if it is the MyIE2 version I am using? 8350
I have just tried a different weather plugin with same results!
I just enter City and click on search.

I just did a little testing and I believe the plugin may no longer work. It gets its information from Weather.com and Weather.com seems to have changed the way it works. I went out to it and it does not look like a local forecast is available in the same format as the plugin had used. I did some checking on the My IE2 forum and I did not see anything to show a lot of people are having problems with it though so I am not sure but I can not use it. I did find that some Pop Up stoppers can cause problems with it and you must have ActiveX enabled for it to work so this is something you might need to check. Also disable script errors in IE if you have it enabled.
I had not tried to use the plugin since my PC got hit by lighting. I had a special version of the plugin because the other versions did not work correctly for my location so the author had created one for me that worked very well but I lost that copy due to the lighting strike. As a result I had not tried to use it with this laptop.
The current copies that I have downloaded can not find my location so I can not even try to use it or they lock the PC up completely.

Many thanks Ranger Bob for the effort you have made, I will delete that plugin. All the others I have tried work ok, and I am very pleased with MyIE2.
