I have finally removed a stubborn program from Add/Remove in XP which I know was uninstalled successfully but refused to budge

Start, Run
type RegEdit

Navigate to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall.

This folder lists all the programs available in your Add/Remove Programs Control Panel. Select an entry you wish to remove from the list on the left, press the Delete key, and confirm to remove it.

Dont forget to back up the registry first.

Thanks, Eve. I got an Epson Printer entry out of my husband's computer's registry installed-list (he's never had an Epson product of any kind).

I discovered the other day that regedit has its own favorites list, so when one is at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall, just click on "Favorites" in the menu bar and add this handy place.

:)That is a neat trick for favourites DS, thanks. I never noticed it there before.
